Conductor: Naya Chorale
After learning piano for a short time, Adam began studying the violin at the age of 6. In 2003, he won the WAYO scholarship and joined the WAYO Philharmonic, which he co-lead for two years before moving onto the West Australian Youth Orchestra itself in 2005. In 2006 he graduated from Perth Modern School and received the Most Outstanding Instrumental Student Award as well as the Dettman Scholarship.
He became a member of both the WA Youth Chorale and Vocal Evolution in 2007, the latter of which he was the Associate Musical Director and co-lead the chorus to its first gold medal at the National Barbershop Chorus Competition with Alex Morris. Together with a colleague, he formed the all male A Capella quartet 3 Men & A Tenor; and Just After 5, a mixed-voice A Capella sextet. In 2009, 3 Men & A Tenor competed at the National Barbershop Quartet Competition and won the bronze medal in the open contest and gold in the youth contest.
In the first year of his degree at the WA Academy of Performing Arts, (WAAPA) Adam won the Faith Court Award for "the most outstanding first year violinist". He studied choral conducting under Micheál McCarthy for the full 3 years of his degree and completed his Bachelor of Music (Violin Performance Major) in 2011.
Naya Chorale is "the choir he's always wanted to direct" and Adam has thrown his passion and full musical capacity behind the group to ensure its success.
